Missing Daisy

Daisy went missing.  She was located outside, in the rain, above a booster chair, and under an umbrella.  Her shoes were missing too.

Ready for Kinder

Nels is in Kindergarten readiness classes this summer.  He claimed he was happy and excited to go.  He looked nervous to me.  He only had good things to say about the class and he was definitely proud of himself.  I am too!  Next time he wants to bring a backpack.  Kids these days and their fancy things.

Now Daisy was not happy about this school thing at all.  She sat next to Nels and refused to leave him.  Then she was screaming that we couldn't just leave him there.  We need to take him home!  Never thought about how attached she is to him.  They do share a room by choice and are rarely apart.  Hmm.  She's not going to like just hanging out with boring mom next year.

We went to the library while Nels was in "school".  Guy found a friend to play Battleship with while Daisy and I played some dream mystery date game.  It cheered Daisy up fast when she found her dream dress.  I found a pretty necklace card but I wasn't allowed to keep it. Playing board games with rules made up by a 3 year old is kind of sad.

Better Builders

We haven't gone to any of the Home Depot/Lowes workshops in over a year.  Decided to try it again. Wow.  Guy didn't need any help at all.  Nels just needed his nails started.  Daisy needed a little guidance but she never took off running.  Best workshop yet.

Beach Day

We went on a little hike.  I read about the "Hobbit Trail" in a hiking with kids book and thought that sounded great.  But I parked at the wrong spot and the most Hobbit-like family member wouldn't have made it.

As usual, it was a windy day so we weighed down some things with rocks.  Most notably, the picnic blanket.  Followed by the treasure map.  Lastly, a leaf that was blowing by.  It had to be stopped.

Kids at Play.
The boys built rivers.  Daisy built a pond.  Unfortunately her pond grew too big and right into Nels' river.  She didn't have water rights.  A rock wall was constructed.

On our way home we stopped at the carnivorous plant sanctuary for lunch.  Daisy spent the entire visit in a panic.  I didn't said anything.  She asked "Do the plants eat small children?"  I replied "Dunno."  Lunch was had, by whom I can't say.

Daisy's Animal Collection

We are two weeks into summer.  Daisy is on a tour of favorite animals.

Penguins.  She says they do not stink but they smell like fish.

Goats.  Daisy thinks being licked my a goat is better than being licked by a dog.  I believe she thinks this because a goat has not eaten her shirt before but a dog has.  Doesn't make sense, really.

A hog.  The best kinds of animals have buttons and switches.
