Silly Little Boy

Nels started walking on Sunday.  Four days into walking he has decided it's time to learn how to hop.  Boys are weird.

I'm blind!  My hand is gone!

This leaf kind of tastes like green.  My favorite taste!

Home & Garden Show

For my 29th birthday I wanted to go to the Home & Garden show.

Guy thought it was fun.  Well I think we all did.  But he's the most enthusiastic.
Climbing fences!

I didn't let Nels do anything fun.  Thankfully he has a dad who gives him neat things like flags.  Good for waving.  Good for chewing.

You can only wave a flag so much before you just have to rest...

Lucy's Garden in Winter

Lucy's little wagon garden fell apart.  (Intact in June 2011)
Photobucket

I can fix this!
Photobucket

But not like this... that's a terrible idea.
Photobucket

Wait.. think I got it.  I was only seconds away from trashing the planter.  Bricks and twine solved my problems for now.
Photobucket

Time to get the rest of Lucy's garden ready for planting.  Going to work on the soil and pick out the plants.

March Reads

Fiction
Last month I read Hitchhiker's Guide and there are more books in the series.  And I'll skip those.  I see the appeal but I'm not talented at visualizing things I've never seen before.  I respect the sci-fi genre but lots of it's lost on me.

This month I'm going to read Tigana by Guy Gavriel Kay

Non-Fiction
Last month I read Making Children Mind without Losing Yours by Kevin Leman.  I like all books by Kevin Leman but they are starting to sound all the same.  I'm glad I read it, though.
I also read The Money Saving Mom's Budget by Crystal Paine.  I read her blog and found out her book was coming out in February.  I checked it out from the library because that's how you save money.  I didn't really care for the book, I've read it all before.  I guess it's nice to have it all in one place plus I think time management and goal setting should be the priority in any budgeting book and it was in this one.

This month I will read Growing Food In the High Desert Country by Julie Behrend Weinberg.  So far I learned I need a pick ax.  I don't know why I never thought of that but the idea really excites me.  I could get a lot done with a pick ax.

Sick

I guess for dissing February, I get to spend half of March sick, sick, sick.

Doesn't matter - I was banned from the computer anyway.  Guy drew this picture (without the 'X' through it) and called me in look at it.  After I admired it, he drew the 'X' and informed me that mom's aren't allowed to use computers.  He likes to trick me like that.

No More February!

I'm glad February is the shortest month of the year because it's my least favorite.
His too.
Photobucket

Here's summing it up...
Aside from the "No Babies Allowed" sign on Guy's bedroom door, the two seem to be getting along.
Photobucket

Which is more than we can say about his pal, Mavis.  She melted out of spite.
Photobucket

Nels has been problem solving all month on how to eat larger quantities of food.
Photobucket

He has free time since he doesn't have to make his own toys, his brother makes them for him.  Like this boat made out of paper.  Nice.

No Chick-Fil-A!

February finally yielded some fun.

We traveled for miles go to Chick-Fil-A, where all dreams come true.  Except on Sunday, the day we arrived.  But there was a Panera Bread next door.  I've never been there but it was the best.  Plus we sat outside in the awesomeness of what is Northern California weather.

Guy was in the childcare area for the max time allowed and we still left too early for him.  He is still taking about Ikea.

Nels was too little for childcare.  He found his own entertainment.
