Wednesday marked the day when little Lucy died a year ago. I don't think a date should be really important but I get asked for the date Lucy died often and I had to put it on lots of paperwork so it's just sort of stuck in my head as a bad day. But bad days can always change so the kids and I went out to have a good day.
We went for lunch! When I get grumpy making choices is the first thing I stop doing. Guy wanted chocolate milk. That narrowed it down by 10%. Also when I'm grumpy, not caring about anything is usually the second thing to go but for some reason I knew of one cafe that I would miss if it disappeared so we went to ye olde Emerald City Cafe. (Not making sense is usually the 3rd thing to go.)
I like how on the menu it says you get a cookie with your meal.
Nels shows off the cookie. (One bite at a time, little buddy)
That's what is so good about this place. They emphasize the right things in life and aren't about over abundance.
We went shopping for some presents for Lucy to say we miss you. Guy ran into an older gentleman who should have scolded him (and me!) But he didn't, he handed Guy a candy. People are nice. The nicest ones always seem to track you down when you are having a bad day.
Guy and his Werther's Original.
Our visit to Lucy
I wanted to get Lucy some Necco Wafers. She liked the ones from JoAnn Fabrics but I didn't feel like going to the area of town. Thankfully it's Valentines Day for Necco hearts are everywhere. I picked out ones I thought she'd like.
