Tummy Yummys

I love baking with my little chef, Guy. I think he will grow up to be chef someday. He gets really into it and tries to improvise so after measuring a couple things he was given the important job of transporting water into bowls and then dumping them down the sink, repeat.
After having him sample some chocolate he had to wash it down with heavy whipping cream.
Our hard work!

Valentine's Day

For Valentine's Day I made some food that looked so good to me I just had to take pictures.

We had venison burgers for dinner.
And Pink Velvet cake for dessert (I ran out of red food coloring so we didn't get Red Velvet)

Cloth Diaper Covers

I took a sewing class on making cloth diaper covers on Monday. The cover I made isn't shaped right for Lucy. Oh well. I'm happy I know how to make the patterns now!
Here's some picture of Lucy and her chubby cloth diaper butt. You got to add the bulk where you can on skinny kids. I'm working on their pot bellies now by overfeeding them ice cream.

My Little Artist

One of the coolest things about being a mom is seeing your child do something completely ordinary and thinking they are a genius for it. Guy drew this picture in the tub.

We were painting with cars last week. We were trying to paint this week with a brush but Guy can't get over the cars. He knows his primary colors but I have a hard time understanding him. But I'm still very impressed!

Saving Recipes Forever...

I have a card file that I can't fit anymore recipes/magazine cut-outs in and I haven't even tried any of them. So this month I'm working on either throwing them out or trying them.

I tried a new muffin recipe. I then decided that my King Arthur Baking Book has the best muffin recipes and I do not need to save any muffins recipes unless I'm going to try them right away. The same goes for any recipe in the book. I do not need to save donut or pie crust or bread recipes for years.

I tried a Peanut Butter cookie recipe. You know the one with 1 c sugar, 1 c peanut butter, and one egg? Bake for 10 minutes at 375 degrees? Not as good at the PB cookie recipe on the back of the Jif conatiner but still good. I'm saving that one for when I'm lazy. Although I crossed off the 10 minutes and wrote in 9. I like them better at 9 minutes.

I made Sunrise Pizzas today. It was cheese, bacon, and eggs on top of a rolled out biscuit. Why did I need a recipe card for that? I threw it away. But I did eat the pizzas.

Fire Station (AGAIN)

Our little home preschool is going well. I found a friend on my mom forum to work with on this so every other week we'll try her ideas and the alternating weeks she can try ours.

This week we are doing the theme Cars&Trucks. But we did something not too new. We went to the Fire Station again. We got there early and watched the construction going on across the street.
