Thrifty Thursday

Today for Thrifty Thursday me and Guy attended free preview class at Gymboree Play & Music. It was about an hour long of Guy talking to other babies about baby things, crawling on lots of different shaped and textured things, and chasing toys. When we came home he drank his formula like a good boy and fell fast asleep with a giant smile on. I don't know how thrifty this was since I'll ask my husband tonight about joining.

Guy's Toy Box

Before Guy was born my husband made him this toy box! It has stayed in Guy's room but on Monday I moved it out to the living room. Guy spends most his time out there and he is old enough to pull himself up and look through the toys. It doubles as seating when we have guests, too.

While I was at the dentist this morning, I guess my husband took this picture because it just showed up on my camera!

Oregon Trip Week 1

Half of our trip has passed and I haven't really put up any pics! We've been busy. We've been visiting lots of family and seeing lots of places. Yesterday we went to the coast to watch a parade. Guy liked the marching bands the best - not big on the log trucks or clowns.

Shopping with grandpa Steve in Eugene, OR. Found the perfect toy!

Going for a walk with Uncle Jesse and Grandma Kathy at Alton Baker park in Eugene, OR.

Helping grandma Kathy with some yard maintence in Dexter, OR.

Amazing Food Storage

Wrap-N-Mat sandwich wraps are great. I ordered two of these over a month ago to use with my husbands lunches. They are easy to use and they really do keep a sandwich fresh. You can wash them by hand or run them through the washing machine and hang dry. I also use these to transport breads, cookies, and squished muffins.

The run $6.50 for an American made one or $5.75 for one made in China. I like that they give you the option. I support American made products the most I can so I paid the tiny bit extra.

Now these may not save you any money since $6.50 can by a lot of Ziploc bags, but not producing the waste while supporting American products makes you feel pretty good. Plus, my husband prefers these over Ziplocs since tyhey double as a placemat!

Oregon Trip

We're not in Nevada anymore! Yesterday me and Guy caught a lift with my inlaws. We're going to be in Oregon for a couple weeks!

Guy cozy in his grandparents RV

So don't expect much posts of crafts or couponing for awhile. But lots of pictures of Guy, the little Oregonian.

Warm Weather Drink

Strawberry Limeade

Blend the following:
1/2 C lime juice
2 C water
1 1/2 C strawberries
1/4 C sugar

Throw some ice cubes in the blender if you want a slushie or serve the final product over ice.

I had some limes to get rid of and strawberries are very inexpensive right now so this was a perfect drink for me.

Name Plaque

Every baby these days seems to have their own name plaque. Warm Biscuit bedding company sells customized kiddie plaques is various amazing themes for $28. I think they are so cute, but they don't carry Guy's nursery theme - Monsters. No surprise there. Western plaque by Warm Biscuit

I decided to make our own and of course be thrifty about it. I bought two wooden plaques at Michael's for $3 total. I had the other supplies at home - paintbrush, acrylics, ribbon, and a staple gun.

This plaque is hung outside of Guy's room. This represents the man Guy wants people to think he is.

The plaque below is the one hung inside Guy's room. This represents the man Guy really is.

Here is my workspace and the creative director. I only have room to work at the table and on the floor these days. I guess that makes it so I can't leave a project out forever. Before Guy came along I had an office/craft room. It was always a terrible mess.
Overall, I love Guy's new room decor. It's cute and personalized and thrifty! Although I kept typing "plagues" instead of "plaques"so if Guy comes down sick later I guess I'm to blame.

Wednesday's Wardrobe

Me today! The brown tank I found at a yard sale and the shirt and skirt are from thrifting last year.

I remember the shirt was $7! Thrift store shirts shouldn't cost $7! But that's how much I loved it. I don't think I should wear light colors but I really like the shirt on a hanger. It's just a feminine western shirt. I secretly love western stuff.

Shoes and socks are from my mom. My mom really contributes a lot to my wardrobe. Haha. Good thing she has good taste.

This week I went back to Factory-2-U since my first trip there was so exciting. I bought a new purse (my new goal with purses are something I can fit a diaper, a set of plastic keys, and a cheerio in). I'm not sure if I love this purse, but I love bright colors. XOXO purse -$10. Light blue polo tee Arizona - $4. Heart watch - $10.

Lastly and most importantly, here is Guy yesterday. Right now he is napping in his PJs so a picture seems inappropriate.
Guy is such a little stud.
Sunglasses - The Children's Place, T-Shirt - Walgreens, Jeans - Gymboree.

Weekend Wedding

We spent Friday at Lake Tahoe for a wedding. It was beautiful and a lot of fun. Guy dressed up. He looked nicer than me or my husband. Haha.

Thrifty Thursday

Thrift Thursday again at Comical Coupon Cents!

Last Friday one of the children's thrift stores in town was having a moving sale - everything for $1!

I found some grey train Gymboree overalls, a blue flannel shirt, and a London Fog raincoat! He'll wear those this summer. (We're going to the coast soon so he might need the raincoat). And I bought Guy two long sleeve shirts for next winter, plus some velcro Stride Rite shoes - size 5 /12 - he's in size 4 now (at 7.5 months)! Giant feet. I spent $6 + tax.
